This small book is part of the author’s “Women’s Speak” series which selects outstanding women and uses excerpts from their speeches or writings to present their views on a variety of topics. The author included twenty women in all, each representing a different country and different area of interest. Each has become a leader, speaking authoritatively on issues such as children, housing, war, peace, and health. Most will be well known to the reader, such as Queen Noor (Jordan), Benedita da Silva (Brazil), or Mary Robinson (Ireland). Others may be new, offering a wonderful introduction to the lives and words of some of the world’s most influential women.
